Our Words, Defined.

Breethly has a vocabulary of its own: some terms we coined, some borrowed and made plain. Here's what each one means, with no jargon and no medical claims.

Nervous System Fitness

The trainable skill of steering your own state: how fast you calm down, how cleanly you come up, and how steady your baseline sits. The whole idea Breethly is built around.

BreathOS™

The Breethly app that pairs with the device. It logs your sessions, surfaces your Breathe Metrics, and guides your training: the operating system for your practice.

Breathe Metrics

The consumer-friendly measures Breethly shows you: your Calm Score, recovery speed, streaks and trends. Proof your practice is working, without the clinical clutter.

Calm Score

A simple, in-session read of how settled your system is, distilled into one number you can watch move during a session and trend over time. A wellness signal, not a diagnosis.

Everyday Resets

Short, repeatable sessions, often as quick as ninety seconds, built for the gaps in a real day. The unit of practice, not a twenty-minute commitment.

Inhale / Exhale

The two halves of every breath, and of how we talk. The inhale lifts and sharpens; the exhale settles and recovers. Breethly trains both directions on purpose.

HRV in Plain Language

Heart rate variability: the small, natural variation between heartbeats that wearables track as a big-picture recovery signal. Read it as a personal trend, never a verdict. See the full HRV guide for more.
